Freedom 250 Announces Spire Academy as host venue for the 2026 Patriot Games

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Freedom 250 today announced that SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio, will serve as the host venue for the 2026 Patriot Games, a national athletic competition celebrating the next generation of American leaders, competitors, and champions as the nation marks its 250th anniversary.
Held Aug. 9–11, the 2026 Patriot Games will bring together exceptional young athletes ages 14–17 from across the United States, territories, and tribal nations to compete in a series of challenges designed to test strength, endurance, agility, teamwork, and perseverance. Winners will compete for a share of the $250,000 prize pool, providing transformative educational opportunities and helping them pursue their future goals.
An accredited college preparatory boarding school and one of the premier youth sports, training, and development facilities in the United States, SPIRE Academy provides a world-class setting for a competition that reflects the values of excellence, determination, and opportunity that have defined the American story for over 250 years.

The 2026 Patriot Games is designed to highlight the next generation and the qualities that have long defined the American spirit. Athletes will compete in a series of events that reward not only physical achievement, but also discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and leadership.
The competition will include rounds that test excellence in skillsets of beloved American sports, including elements from football, basketball, soccer, track, and more. Competitions will feature both team and individual competitions. Competitors will be tested on the skills from the Presidential Fitness Test, go through a military-inspired boot camp circuit, and finalists will compete in an obstacle course designed to test strategy and skill.
The 2026 Patriot Games will take place Aug. 9-11, 2026, with events streaming on the ESPN App and culminating in a national primetime ESPN on ABC special on Aug. 13, bringing the stories and accomplishments of these remarkable young Americans to millions of viewers nationwide.
Athletes will begin arriving on Aug. 7 and Aug. 8, with the competition taking place Aug. 9-11. The event will feature a series of athletic challenges designed to test strength, endurance, agility, teamwork, and perseverance while highlighting the values that have helped shape generations of Americans.
Applications for athletes ages 14-17 are now open. Participants will submit eligibility information and a short video sharing their story and why they want to compete. Applications will be reviewed by the 2026 Patriot Games Selection Committee, with selected applicants advancing through additional screening and verification rounds before finalists are chosen.
